Strategic Sourcing Specialist
for WITTENSTEIN Inc. at US - Bartlett, IL (USA)
Responsibilities
- Identify new suppliers and develop current strategic suppliers to support WITTENSTEIN's growing business within assigned commodities as appropriate.
- Use market, forecasting, and consumption data to develop commodity specific strategies and report on them semi-annually.
- Support internal customers with sourcing new items and general RFQs for assigned commodities.
- Negotiate new contracts within assigned commodities in the best interest of WITTENSTEIN.
- Manage Supplier Quality issue resolution within assigned commodities.
- Evaluate supplier performance for assigned commodities.
- Assist in developing and updating purchasing procedures and work instructions as needed.
- Establish new supply bases for expansion and localization efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in procurement or related fields is required; or equivalent working experience.
- 5+ years of Purchasing experience is required, preferred in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with an ERP system (BaaN, SAP) required.
- Experience working in a global company preferred.
- Mechanical engineering/design expertise.
- General knowledge of Foreign Trade Law, International Traffics in Arms Regulations, Tariff Codes, etc. (19 CFR, 15 CFR).
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Effectively utilizes Microsoft products like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Reads and understands blueprints.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident required.
- Travel 25% - 50%.
