Machining Supervisor

Responsibilities

This is a supervisory leadership position within the company. The position includes monitoring daily operation and ensuring quality and on time delivery. Machining team leader provides training and coaching to the team and interviews and recommends new hires.
Secondary part of this position is to machine parts per blueprints, established procedures, guidelines and time frames.


Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Assess present and future department needs and makes recommendations
  • Analyze internal processes and recommend/implement procedural or policy changes to improve department efficiency
  • Manage quality, cost, safety, and schedule to meet company goals
  • Interview and recommend new hire candidates
  • Maintain department control measures
  • Administer personnel performance program
  • Assist internal customers as applicable
  • Contacts service, vendors for machine repair and maintenance
  • Makes proposals for the budget and maintains compliance
Operational Responsibilities
  • Program and set up CNC machine including first article inspection
  • Adjust program/machine per result if necessary
  • Maintain the machine according the manual and maintenance sheet
  • Generate and maintain records related to machining
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development certificate (GED) is required
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred
  • Minimum 2 years prior supervisory experience is required
  • Minimum 5 years direct or related work experience is required
  • Programming experience is a plus
  • Ability to read analyze and interpret documents related to industrial services as well as blueprints, Bill of Materials etc.
  • Effectively manage process control measures
  • Effectively use of tools to perform the task (incl. measuring equipment)
  • Utilization of MS Excel, Word, Power Point and outlook
  • Report through the ERP system time and quantities
  • Diagnose deviations and correct them
  • Program the machine according the machine language
  • Use Hand tools for set up and finishing parts
